Wondering, wandering.
Hundreds of passionate Tasmanians attended the public meeting to protest against funding and staff cuts to TMAG. Quite a few Green and independent pollies there, but none from Labor. They care about dog racing and a footy stadium but not our precious arts, culture and heritage. Shame! #politas

August was the hottest month in global history and yet, NSW has just approved the biggest coal mine expansion ever proposed in the state. It is scandalous that Australia is leading negotiations at global climate talks, including in the Pacific next week.

I support the current arrangement where the federal leader of the Greens is chosen by the party room. The primary job of the leader is to collaboratively lead Greens parliamentary reps. Those reps need to have confidence in the leader and are best placed to choose the best leader. #auspol
GRNs members already have an incredibly democratic (id also say good) method of pre-selecting their candidates, senators exc, so those reps are to a large extent reflective of the membership

and i think the 'knowing them personally' actually does matter

The global rise in bond yields affects the Tasmanian Government. It pushes up the annual cost of servicing the massive stadium debt. It means even more cuts to public sector jobs and services. #politas
Breaking News: The 10-year Treasury yield, one of the world’s most important interest rates, breached 5% for the first time in years, capping a long stretch of turmoil in the bond market that has pushed up borrowing costs for companies and consumers.

The Liberal Party’s death spiral isn’t just about a decline in support from voters, it’s also about a decline in support from potential suitable candidates. Competition for talent is an aspect of party politics. Very few talented people with political ambitions will now choose the Liberals. #auspol
