🚨 The EU is trying to quietly weaken nature laws during summer break. We have 10 days to stop this.
Don't let them destroy our forests, rivers & wildlife in silence. #HandsOffNature www.wwf.eu/campaigns/it...

🚨NEW: @cbsnews.com reports ICE is arresting people who can't even legally be deported and holding them without enough food or water in a federal building BASEMENT in Los Angeles.

Families dutifully attending check-ins with ICE are being arrested and held for days, forced to sleep on the floor.
One attorney, Lizbeth Mateo, said ICE officials slated several of her clients for check-ins at the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building in downtown L.A. but when they showed up on Tuesday, they were detained and immediately escorted to the basement. Mateo said a couple and their two children, one of whom is a U.S. citizen, spent the night in a room with no beds and limited access to food and water. Mateo said the father had previously been issued a stay of removal, barring him from deportation but he and his family were detained anyway. His wife was released Wednesday evening along with their children since she needed medical attention due to a high-risk pregnancy. He was still being detained early Friday, Mateo said.

#winter #river
a still lake with the snowy trees and houses reflected onto the water in the distance. the sky is a unified light gray, as it's covered in clouds. a wide river, the left bank is a concrete wall with snow and trees and a house, the right bank is made of large flat rocks jutting out, also covered in snow and trees. a bird's eye view of rushing river water

the moon above some powerlines. the sky is a dark teal. a tiny star is visible in the bottom left corner. a dusty lilac and yellow gradient in the sky behind the silhouette of powerlines and a streetlight; clouds stretch across the bottom. a tiny star floats on the top-middle-left.

What's happening in Sudan? Since April 2023, Sudan's war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) armed group has become a nightmare. Both sides are accused of committing potential war crimes, including indiscriminate attacks on civilians, weaponizing aid access, and using starvation and sexual violence as weapons of war. 25 million Sudanese people, which is almost half of the population, are facing famine, mass atrocities, and the largest forced internal displacement and humanitarian crisis in the world. Yet little has been done to end this brutal war, hold leaders accountable, and protect innocent civilians. This escalating crisis displaced around 14 million people, of which over 3.1 million fled to other countries, looking for safety. Famine has tragically been declared in parts of the country, for the first time, worldwide, in almost a decade. What does that have to do with the UAE? The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is committing mass atrocities and likely genocide in Darfur today, as they did twenty years ago. External forces drive this violence due to their interests in Sudan, the biggest contributor is the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The UAE directly supplies arms, cash, and diplomatic cover to the RSF's rampage. The UAE is sponsoring a genocide. The UAE funds foreign mercenaries worldwide to fight its war in Sudan, with no regard for life. Our Message is Clear. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. 1. Enough of the United Arab Emirates supporting genocide through Rapid Support Forces and global leaders failing to acknowledge their crimes 2. Enough silencing of Sudanese voices and killing of journalists 3. Enough global complacency and isolation of the Sudanese people, in Sudan and outside, seeking refuge 4. Enough neglecting local Sudanese organizations' efforts and needs 5. Sudanese people are Enough. We call on global leaders, agencies, and policymakers to hold UAE accountable for their crimes, violence, and exploitation of our people and land. We need leaders to protect civilians from all forms of exploitation and violence. Sudanese civic society and local community leaders' voices need to be in the forefront. Sudanese civilians will be protected once these five pillars are met.

I love winter best season fr

the snow is so glitter

also, look how bright that star is!!! (you can hardly tell it's a star)
The moon at night, shining through clouds, with tree branches extending from the left foreground A very blurry and poor photo of a singular bright star in the sky, above a line of trees, streetlights, and a field of snow Bootprints in glittery snow, with the actual boots that created them standing behind them, peeking into frame Tire tracks in the snow on asphalt
