Everyone on this blue sky wants to know: what the h*ck is a Jev? Why are nerds excited about this?

Reader, I wish I knew. Watcher, I’ll tell you, don’t tell the reader guys.

LLMs are closer to grown than designed. This is what people mean when they say we don’t ”understand” them nor can ”control” them

Trying to go see the new Resident Evil movie but apparently before I can enter the auditorium I have to have the spade key to unlock the door? And I only have the hearts key, which unlocks the route to the concession stand. Anyone know where to go next? A bit stuck

You will simply have to tolerate bad AI outcomes sometimes or tolerate not having a democracy anymore. Its sorry those are the choices but those are the choices.
Open weights do not automatically produce good outcomes. That is not the goal. They produce plural sovereignty.

cell phones made everyone a photographer, and AI will make everyone a software developer
the leap from traditional software development to agentic software development is like when digital photography overtook film

you can now make SO much software so easily (even non-developers) like how anyone can take infinite photos without having to consider restraints of film (cost, time, skill)

Increasingly convinced that specs are now the source and that code is an artifact akin to a lockfile.

Made a little proof of concept with @typesafeai.bsky.social 's Jev.

"Jevibe Check" auto-labels posts by tone as you scroll (just in your browser).

you can add your own classifiers, and use the labels to blur/collapse the posts if you want to.

Jev is extremely fast and super cheap!
