Rupert Lowe posting awful racist comments on Facebook earlier. I honestly don't understand how his comments aren't classed as hate speech.

Perimenopause and heatwaves do not coexist peacefully. I need a cool hat. Something I can put in the fridge or freezer to make it icy and then pop on my head. Does such a thing exist?

Bloody hell. Do we really need an emergency alert to warn us not to light fires?

Last day of our holiday and I'm eating ice cream for breakfast. Happy days.

Just ordered dinner for 4, in German, from a hole in the wall. Lady definitely didn't speak English and we all got what we expected. It's 30 years since I last learned German. Thank you Herr Walker!

Mahoosive thunder storm! Grass will definitely be green tomorrow.

23:30 in the UK and it was still 23°. I can't remember the last time it rained, maybe 5 or 6 weeks ago? Going to be well over 30° tomorrow, again. This is crazy. Soon we'll all be taking a siesta and learning flamenco.

It was inevitable, wasn't it🙄

Of course the Telegraph would run with something like this👇

So let's remove some of the rose-tinted spectacles and also look at some of that data comparing 1976 with modern heat waves

Because the 1976 nostalgia porn is wearing a bit thin at this stage

Tried to convince my teen that tonight's football match involved 3 teams; Canada, Bosnia, and Herzegovina. Told her they played 3 halves so they could all have a go at playing each other. Think that was the point that she realised I was lying. Pants at geography but an ace at maths.

I know I'm late to the game, but I think Stacey Solomon's Sort Your Life Out is brilliant. Lot's of low-key social work going on.

Liverpool, you've been amazing. Sunny skies, stunning buildings, and friendly people. I've loved showing my daughter around my student home. #LiverBuilding #3Graces #LiverpoolCity #LiverpoolTownHall #AlbertDock

I don't think my grandmother worked at Gladstone, but I could totally see her being involved in something like this.

Why education is important, number 3851269053...
People tend to think of functional illiteracy as just being unable to read words aloud or such.

What it *really* means is such as not being able to perceive subtext, context, understand who the audience of something may be, etc.

Media illiteracy is fundamentally part of functional illiteracy.

what is the largest animal you are confident you could expel, singlehandedly, from a medium-size bookshop?

RULES:
- you have no resources beyond what is available in the shop
- you must remain more or less uninjured
- bookshop has 2 floors; animal is on ground floor, you can choose where you begin

Why do measurements in inches persist in UK, despite children being taught everything in cm for decades? I was at school in 80s and only learned cm. I'm particularly irked that clothing uses inches still. I have no idea on sizes when buying jeans or school uniform. Idiocy!

The 10 year old has picked up my wheat bag and asked if it's a weighted sausage. He's now coming out with dozens of innuendos and I have absolutely no idea if he understands what he's implying. If I ask, he'll know it's 'naughty' and will say it more. 😬

Just gone to watch mixed curling on i-player and the BBC has given away the results in the caption. Very frustrated at this and the ridiculously short highlights. It's 10 minutes of the winners or 4 hours of morning/evening action.

Just set up this week's dates in my bullet journal with entirely wrong dates. Only noticed when I got to Saturday. The 13th. Valentine's Day.
Hey ho..... living with the imperfection.

Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.
