PHFA is now accepting RFPs through the Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement program aimed to expand access to affordable housing and support housing-related initiatives in communities across PA. The deadline to submit applications is 2 p.m., Nov. 19.

Westmoreland County Housing Authority has begun construction on Willowbrook Commons, a 50-unit affordable housing development for seniors in Rostraver. PHFA funding, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, is aiding development of this community.

These projects both received $100,000 through the PHFA's Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement program and are excellent examples of how to expand affordable housing by reusing existing buildings and reclaiming vacant land.

An estimated 5.7% of PA households lack air conditioning. Don’t put up with a hot house: PHFA’s Homeowners Energy Efficiency Loan Program can be used to install (or repair) HVAC systems and offers loans between $1,000 and $10,000 at a fixed rate of 1%.

Congratulations to LEVEL for completing the renovation of five once-vacant McKees Rocks homes. A $350,000 PHFA-provided PHARE grant helped transform these homes and create this homeownership opportunity for low- and moderate-income homebuyers.
