Mohale’s Hoek has the highest tuberculosis (TB) burden in Lesotho. In Lesotho, most people have to travel long distances to reach clinics. PIH Lesotho’s TB Elimination Outreach program brings TB screening and care directly to people in rural areas to save lives.

After being diagnosed with severe alcohol use disorder, Peter Wallace joined a weekly peer support group in rural Liberia.

Less than a year after joining, Wallace became a peer educator with the program, raising awareness, and encouraging others in recovery.

Regina Chingwalu lost the use of her limbs from extrapulmonary tuberculosis (TB).

In Regina’s case, the bacteria had traveled through the bloodstream into her bones, eating at her vertebrae until she became paralyzed.
