Back home after another night in hospital with the little one. Flu + croup and a high temperature triggered a cluster of myoclonic seizures.

Can't take a trick at the moment, back-to-back-to-back sicknesses have seen us in hospital multiple times over the past month.

How fucking good is the radio. No bots or AI, just decent stories and real people calling up to have a yarn.

I like that I can use Claude to churn out a prototype for my wife’s ideas in the time it takes her to go pee. That's the real win for AI here.

Learning to put in a feeding tube wasn't one of the tasks I thought I would need to know as a parent, but here we are.

Hopefully it's only temporary.

AI is leading to burnout among its greatest advocates. When I hear about people spinning up too many projects chasing the dopamine of productivity and then crashing against the wall of their own meta-cognitive limits, I'm like "Oh, poor babe. You gave yourself ADHD."

When Using AI Leads to “Brain Fry”
As firms increasingly incentivize employees to build and oversee complex teams of agents—for example, by measuring and rewarding token consumption as a proxy for performance—people are finding themsel...

Nintendo's Talking Flower is annoying as hell. We love it.

You gotta admire a company like Nintendo just does its own thing and puts out stuff like this $35 "Talking Flower" toy that just randomly shouts out things every 30 minutes or so. It also shouts out the time.

This $35 toy flower with a speaker is like having an annoying, noisy, lovable pet that you can tell to shut up.

Can you imagine how infuriating a co-worker would be if they talked like AI? After going in circles, receiving this would send me over the edge.

"You are absolutely right to be frustrated, and I sincerely apologize for the persistent errors."

I rolled the gastro dice on some servo dim sims the other day. Still thinking about them, those dimmies were legit.

For a nation absolutely mad for F1, Italian F1 drivers have produced absolutely fuck all over the generations. In the past 40 years all Italian F1 drivers combined have won less races than Australian F1 drivers with Italian names

I absolutely love this. But as a Piastri fan, I also hate it. 😂
Race to the 2025 F1 Drivers’ Championship 🏎️

This demo leans heavily on modern CSS:

• advanced attr() functions
• animation-timeline: scroll

The race positions and data update as you scroll through the season - all driven by CSS.

I work with a lot of Gen Z and younger, and I feel that many have lost the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

Is it because they've grown up using apps which just work, and they never had to fix any computer issues themselves?

The "Cricket" episode of Bluey is one of the best pieces of Australian television I've seen. Can't convince me otherwise.
