Both about the same time: Watching the Velveteen Rabbit film in Kindergarten, and some show on PBS our babysitter let us watch that had a spectral white horse in it (the internet suggests it was The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes "The Horse of the Invisible.")

The music app kept recommending Blossom Dearie based on my faves and people I respect are fans so I thought I shouldn't judge the music by the name and gave in despite my better judgement but of course she does indeed have a voice just like you'd imagine someone with that name would. Pretty fucked up that I have my moderation settings to enable adult content, warn of sensitive content, and hide graphic content, and the result is beautiful paintings are hidden and every other post I see is about r*pe, a word I have muted.

TV producers should find out what type of drugs they are putting in The Marlow Murder Club to make me enjoy watching episode after episode of such DIRE writing and acting. Not a hate watch. I love it madly. But it is dreadfully ridiculous.

After two solid days of rain, Dorothy finally got a proper walk. The sun is out, the cicadas are still screaming, a million infinitesimal worms are hanging from all the trees, and I saw for a second time a pale hawk with a long, narrow tail.
