Popular understandings of Hitler present his supposed aspiration to ‘rule the world’ as villainous independent of his multifarious other transgressions. We see this also in popular fiction – the mere aim of imperium is an evil to be opposed. This is a precise negation of Traditional political norms.

‘Conservative’ can denote the Burkean ideology, support for parties so denoted, or an attitude in line with a strictly etymological understanding of the term. These three may overlap but need not necessarily imply each other. Only in the third sense can Perennialism by said to be conservative.

There is a tendency in discourse to want to describe one’s political opponents on a given issue as being predominantly older people. I realize this is primarily because of the implication that the future belongs to the speaker's side, but it also signals a disturbing contempt for the aged.

The recent controversy regarding Ed Sheeran's tour is another illustration of the injustice of democracy. It is the very essence of injustice to allot to demand someone fulfil a function contrary to their nature, and the vast majority are not of a constituted to opine on politics.
