How about considering the voters of today - in hospitality and creative industries and education and the wider services sector and the gig economy - who actually exist and are the working class we actually have rather than trying to bring back the fantasy working class voters of the past?

BBC News is not a reputable news source these days - and hasn’t been for quite some time
Can anyone explain to me why this article doesn't mention anywhere that small boat crossings are down 42% from last year?

That doesn't mean it's not an issue 781 people arrived in one day. But it seems like the sort of context a reputable news source might mention

Not a dicky bird about thugs trying to sink a dinghy with a rescue worker on board or their claims to be "forming an army". Two boats of people seeking safety land and bingo bango they're the ones portrayed as the issue. Labour is complict in the rise of the far right.

The difference between the performance of immigrants in England and Western Europe is staggering. (20 pts equals a year of learning.)

I looked at this in detail in the post - it can't be explained away by language or relative advantage of different immigrant communities. There is a policy factor.

literally thousands of jobs in higher education were cut *last year alone* and there's been almost no media coverage and no government action
I think it's absolutely mad that today there's a *national news story* about 400 oil platform workers losing their jobs, and the government being blamed.

25% of the UK TV industry lost their jobs in the last 4 years and we never hear a peep about it!

Some jobs are 'real jobs' I guess.
