"Of course they mix everything up. Look at what they have to work with, huh? Basic Set, Dungeon Fantasy, and hundreds of sourcebooks and licenses. GURPS GMs take what they want and leave the rest. Just like your salad bar."

Everyone's already heard my joke about Palladium but I refuse to update it.
I have a joke about Fighting Fantasy, but I feel like I'd be Testing my Luck with it!
I have a joke about 5e but it's bloated, overcomplicated, and complicit in transphobia

Such a terrible fucking rebrand. Looks like the brand identity of a stupidly expensive kitchen shop.

The RNLI is the closest you will ever get to actual Batman. When rescue is visibly, viscerally, obviously impossible; when the water is a smothering, thundering black wall and the wind is screaming straight from Hell; when you are absolutely going to die: someone’s hand pulls you out and you don’t.

Even the version of DuckDuckGo specifically designed to filter out AI is now just awash with slop.

Everything now takes fucking ages because I have to check and double check anything and everything I read on the internet. AI is a massive time waster.

Little Shih Tzu gets to remove his cone of shame. Quick and (relatively) cheap fix for the car. Not a bad start to the weekend.
Got really good news about my doggo this morning at a post-op vet checkup.

Drove out of the car park and the car broke.

Glad it was that way round, to be fair.

I have no 'legitimate concerns' with migrants. I do however have 'legitimate concerns' about political parties receiving massive donations from foreign crypto billionaires and men in masks and black shorts attempting to intimidate the public.

I am once again pleading for any RPG creators who make PDFs to put *something* on them to let me know what game this is for. When I am trying to sort through hundreds (or thousands) of files and I come across handouts.pdf or charsheet.pdf, I'd really like to put them with their parent game.

Regular reminder that JG Ballard’s final novel, “Kingdom Come” (2006), is about a far-right English town which creates their own militarised breakaway state in a shopping mall, where they worship the gods of St George and consumerism. Old JG wrote it as tongue-in-cheek satire. At the time.
In the movie version of this, after Piddington runs out of food water and money as a result of leaving the UK, the residents apply for asylum and end up housed in a military base, with HILARIOUS consequences.

If the people of Piddington want to fuck off out of the UK so badly they can go grab a lift on the Ed Sheeran tour bus. I hear there’s quite a bit of room.

Slowly but surely, year on year, I pump less and less money into the local economy. So many different barriers to Point Of Sale have been cropping up in the last decade and I cannot be fucked to overcome them, even if I wanted to. And with regards to apps like this, I don't fucking want to.
Ordered at a local cafe I've not visited for a while, presented an almost-full loyalty card. "Oh no, we've switched to an app, that's no good any more."

FUCK YOU AND YOUR INSECURE BLOATWARE, LOYALTY IS A TWO-WAY STREET MOTHERFUCKERS AND YOU JUST BIT THE KERB, PLUS YOUR AIRCON IS ALWAYS FAR TOO HIGH

It can do anything, so give us money!

It can’t do everything, so give us money!

It’ll replace you, so give us money!

Is it alive? Give us more money!

We’ve “lost control“ so give money!

It’ll save us! We need more money!

It’ll destroy us. Money! Money! Give us all the fucking money!

Britain died when The Big Breakfast got axed. Brexit was just rolling the corpse into a ditch and throwing some leaves over it.
The 90s ended not with the millennium, or with 9/11, but with the ending of Live and Kicking on a Saturday morning and its replacement with bland, safe cooking shows. The party was over at that exact moment.

Empty house this evening so I stuck some Tangerine Dream on the record player, pulled out some notebooks and paper and dived back in to heavy-thewed savagery on the Venusian high seas.
Starting a new GURPS game this evening. Stumbled upon a map of Venus that depicted it with Earth-like water oceans and now I’m going to use it as a sword and sorcery setting. Am excite.

Not using your massive majority to tighten political donation regulations but instead send out begging letters because the other guys got millions is a cunt move, and just as infuriating as anything that happened during the Johnson-Truss-Sunak years. Fucking shame on you all.
