The Senate is back next week for one last four week session before the midterms. Here's everything you need to know about the state of play for Trump's awful judicial nominees:
Here Are the Last Judicial Nominees Trump Wants Confirmed Before the Midterms
A few frantic weeks during the Senate’s lame-duck session could shape voting rights, immigration law, and presidential power for a generation.

FWIW, Judge Loken is 86 years old and the only thing standing between us and Judge Ilan Wurman.
Good heavens, Chris is not joking. The first portion of this hearing is just Judge Loken giving a rambling monologue about the upcoming election and situation in Missouri.

It his highly unusual to start an oral argument with a judge filibustering.
The first 10 minutes of today's Onder v. von Glahn arguments at the Eighth Circuit is just Loken doing ... something. media-oa.ca8.uscourts.gov/OAaudio/2026...

Also making edits is so much easier than inputting them. I’d hire an RA to do it but deciphering my handwriting would probably require hazard pay and that’s not in my budget.

Yesterday, the CA3 vacated an opinion filed on Sept. 1 and issued an amended opinion, which contained the below footnote about Judge Mascott's views on the case. The case was argued over the summer, so perhaps she was distracted by her other job and didn't read the opinion before it was filed.

This is a fascinating story. The Alaska senate was so outraged by the attorney general bringing in a complete outsider for this role that they rejected his nomination. Lorence didn't last long either. She's now of counsel at Cooper & Kirk after less than a year on the job.
I missed this but back in October, Alaska appointed Jenna Lorence, daughter of First Liberty / Alliance Defending Freedom lawyer Jordan Lorence, as its first state solicitor general. She doesn't seem to have any connection to Alaska, and previously worked in the Indiana and Kentucky SG offices.

He’s so close to getting it with that last line. Alas!
Every judicial nominee Trump sends to the Senate for the rest of his term is auditioning to prove that same loyalty. Senate Democrats have no business helping to confirm a single one.

PATEL: The previous regulation automatically disqualified any individual who participated in either side of it

KENNEDY: Either side of beastiality? So you disqualified the animal?

P: Well, we have great canines, but we're not going to disqualify them

K: I'm trying to understand why you did this.
