Bill C-22 will harm Canada's ability to conduct science and polling. Online research participation will become less safe, as metadata will allow anonymous participants to be unmasked. Researchers will have to deal the issue of metadata retention in their ethics reports and studies.

I just want to highlight this and I hope Matt doesn’t mind but it is rare & wonderful. @openmedia.org has adjusted their position based on feedback & is changing their policy going forward to be entirely against digital age verification.
