an admittedly tertiary but still annoying side detail of the "trans kids in sports" debate is that these were already the worst kind of sports parents and now they think they're The Face of a Movement
and like why are we centering the complaints of the parents who think the value of sports is "my kid might become a star" instead of the ones who are like "this is a great way to learn teamwork, move your body every day, work hard at a skill, and learn how to lose or fail at things with grace"

Just heard Joe Rice died last week. That's a huge loss in the plaintiff's side of mass tort/class action space. He was on everything from asbestos to tobacco to opioids. I'd guess a good chunk of my old complex lit textbook were cases he worked on.
