Stop fucking using genAI. Not even for a joke, not even for that oh so cutting political satire. Every time you use it, you are actively taking food out of our mouths. You are using the weapon of the enemy. We do not need it.
The amount of working artists I've spoken to who are losing or have lost the ability to make a viable career out of it due largely to people's use of genAI instead of hiring artists is genuinely so upsetting. We won't know what we've lost until it's gone.

And that’s what you fucking get with AI models. It’s definitionally part of how they work.
So all using [AI] will do is make you compete worse. You have to do laps on a hamster wheel to arrive at the opposite conclusion. Because the only way to actually make money on this shit besides a pump-and-dump is to be the guy selling the shovels. And even the shovels are starting to rust.
Even the stuff that sounds good or looks good for a given value of ‘good’ (i.e. it convincingly looks at a glance like it wasn’t generated with a machine, it’s ‘professional’) is only capable of spitting out inputs that existed before. You can feel it in the ‘choices’ it makes, because it doesn’t make choices; it chooses a value with a weight given by a model patched from every work at once on fast forward. The nutritional value of AI work is approximately identical to watching a 2000s horror movie trailer compilation at 4X speed while second-screening Maury transcriptions. been talking to current and former employees of microsoft-owned studios all day, and the prognosis is grim: zenimax, bethesda, obsidian, id, and activision have all taken big hits, while blizzard seemingly remains safe... for now. but how long that, or anything, lasts is anyone's guess

Packing & moving is exhausting. I've been taking so many measurements to figure out how everything will fit and be arranged. 😭
Also, I miss having a larger vehicle. Our old van was able to hold SOOO much, this Kia Soul barely holds shit >_<
I wish we had a van or truck to get some things done

I need all artists to know that using 3D models in your art is not cheating. Those free-to-use 3D models are literally there to make your life easier. Stop being so hard on yourself and just trace that 3D object. You don't need to be able to perfectly draw every object ever from memory!!

Word of advice to devs - if you plan to only have your demo up for nextfest, then take it down - chances are it's going to really hurt your coverage. There isn't a single creator I know that isn't basically in battle mode to handle the emails, much less sort through the thousands of demos on steam.
