From BBC Sport:

"Manchester City will claim as part of their appeal that key sponsorship deals were funded by the Abu Dhabi government, rather than the club's owners."

A couple of things spring to mind here:

1. Why didn't they say this at the original hearing?

2. State Aid rules or the post-

So, here it begins - the UAE fight back - Etihad Airways publish a statement I dictating that they are exploring their legal options regarding the EPL.

Despite not being mentioned at all, the airline decides that they have somehow been damaged as a result of the published redacted City report.

Given the guilty verdicts against Manchester City and the very serious nature of those charges, assuming an appeal is rejected, the only appropriate sanction to apply to the club is that it is expelled from the EPL.

The club can then apply to join the EFL and enter at the lowest level-

Just saw an ad for Jamie Oliver's Channel 4 programme "20 minute meals"

In a segment, Jamie proudly proclaims a dish he has made as "so good!"

It got me thinking; I've never heard any TV chief say anything negative about what they have cooked on TV.

Can't see Jamie saying "that's a load of ****!"

I've just seen Bernardo Silva's "tackle" on Martin Odegaard - thank you for the link, @arseblog.com.

There is no question here; Silva should have been dismissed for violent conduct.

So, I've just turned on RTÉ 2 TV.

Ireland are currently beating Israel 3-0 (or 0-3 as it is technically an away game).

I thought RTÉ were not planning to show the game with commentary, but they seem to have picked up a UK feed.

Guys, anyone in Ireland should watch Virgin Media 2 now as there is a great conversation going in re: the Israel v Ireland games.

Can I just make it clear that Sky Sports News are not reporting the Manchester City story properly.

Manchester City have been found guilty of breaches. It is not "reports that the club has breached".

Stop sanitising that club.

We all remember Schumacher's foul (a better description may be an assault) that in normal regular circumstances in a non-sporting context, he may have been charged with GBH by the police.

As I understand it, the referee on the day lives with the regret of not spotting what we all could see.
Hey, it was a Dutch #referee who missed (not deliberately) Schumacher’s foul in the 1982 France - West Germany WC semi. They’re just following in his footsteps ;)
