When someone loves you, they don't have to say it. You can tell it by the way they treat you.

It was an immense honor to attend FDNY’s Firemen’s Memorial service on Riverside Drive. We remember those who devoted their lives to protecting our city, the families who make enormous, unseen sacrifices, and every member of New York’s Bravest who do the extraordinary to every single day.

Add Karen Smith to my list of badasses whose mouthy approach I respect. Actions usually speak louder than words.

This is a hero, Y'all. Well done, Ma'am. You're gonna kick ass in your new position. ✊📖

Hispanic New Yorkers give our city its flavor, sound, & style.

Where else do you hear Mixtec & Quechua on the same train? Smell chaufa & champurrado on the same block? See a Dominican barber give a Venezuelan kid a fade, a life lesson, & a new accent in one visit?

Last night, we celebrated it all.

New York City, wetin dey sup?

It was a joy to commemorate 34 years of the Nigerian Day Parade alongside the many Nigerian New Yorkers who fill our city with life.

Today, on World Teachers’ Day, we celebrate the teachers, educators, and child care providers who care for the future of New York and invest in our children every day.

New York City doesn’t move without our teachers. We are grateful for their work today and every day.
A city that doesn’t care for its children will fail.

Our City’s child care providers do enormously important and difficult work.

They deserve our utmost respect and appreciation.

This week and every week, we must stand up and support them.

"But the handicapped need cars!"

No, what they need are options in mobility. The tech exists to enable their freedom of independent mobility, but almost always what is lacking is the enabling infrastructure. Bike lanes and quality sidewalks serve everyone.
