In a few weeks it will be an entire year since I rolled off my last storyboard job in animation. 2026 has been very demoralizing for me, to say the least.
I have 7 years of exp as both an artist and PA. Please let me know if anything is staffing up soon!

This may be the first year I don’t go to Lightbox…tickets keep getting more expensive, I’m still unemployed, and I’m certain studios will continue to not have anything useful to share for actual professionals

By the time this merger ruins HBO, destroys WB, gets 5,000 people fired, moves production overseas, and guts the quality of the movies the new studio makes, most people will have forgotten how fast the AGs caved and how little they got in this deal. Writers will not.

Started reading Wildwood on my flight and WOW I can absolutely see why Laika wanted to adapt it! It’s written so much like an animated film, and the way characters speak is just so easy to visualize

just look at what Disney just did, kicking
employee spouses off of healthcare. And every tv animation opportunity ive heard of has gone out of the US. Disney leaders have explicitly identified not wanting to pay for healthcare as the reason. All the other countries cover their citizens!

Better idea: instead of bandaids, put your whole ass & balls behind Medicare For All & decouple health insurance from unions. Huge reason production has left US is that every other country provides health care for its workers, making movies & shows wildly cheaper.
I am in strong agreement with the President. Congress should immediately take up and pass a federal film tax incentive to bring back these good-paying jobs that we've lost to other countries.
