For a long time I've wanted a sense of how trump has or hasn't interacted with chatbots (we know he posts a lot of slop sure). And this TIME anecdote about Grok arguably leading Trump into war is just extremely bracing

CARRIER USS GERALD R FORD TO UNDERGO VAST REFIT

You’re right to wonder why after just one tour (though from an operational point of view an immensely successful one), the carrier that defended Israel and stole Maduro in a sequence of continuous combat missions lasting 10 months needs to be

Its triage: which hospitals get fuel, which industries shut, which crops get fertilizers?

This is SUCH an important story.

It explains why NYT framed the influencer story the way they did.
It explains why influencers are important if you want credit for fixing govt.
It shows the stories that NYT refuses to cover, bc it doesn't fit NYT's narrative conventions.
New from me: The NY Times piece criticized Mamdani for using influencers to share his agenda. But negativity bias means that legacy media like the Times does not cover substantive government stories about Mamdani trying to make the government work better. 🧵

Mamdani has successfully gone around the New York Times, as any successful left politician must right now. And the New York Times is on the case/crying about it. Only rational playbook for effective governance in 2026. If you're not doing some version of this (Trump is), you're in the wrong time.

This is set up for laughs, but it’s actually one of the best demonstrations I’ve seen of how being capable of producing convincing sounding language and understanding meaning are two completely different things.

A chatbot does not understand you, it just has automated responses based on your words.

The whole hangs from a large round bail stamped in a repeating pattern of paired old-style thunderhead motifs. Threaded through it are beads hand-selected to match: glossy black onyx and sardonyx tapered barrels, sterling silver rounds, and a pair of old saucers framing the pendant.

Today in history, 1910: A massive wildfire consumes roughly 3 million acres across three Northwestern states in 36 hours, killing 87 people. The Great Fire of 1910 spurred expansion of our national forests, but Trump wants to repeat the mistakes that led to this deadly blaze. /1

I want to talk about the USS Abraham Lincoln (and her relief by the GW) in terms of strategic risk, readiness, and morale.

For those curious about high level military decision making, you might be surprised by how much time (should) is spent discussing risk. Let’s talk “risk to mission” first. 1/
