during OMS we formed a group of rent funds called Keep Minnesota Housed and tracked, between Feb and May, exactly how much rent was being paid and where, and what/where the unmet needs were

Thousands of immigrants did the hard, dirty work of clearing rubble and toxic dust and debris from Ground Zero. Many were undocumented laborers sent to work every day with no special PPE, and got cancer as a result. Now some of those same people are living in fear of ICE.

When a secretive $1.6 billion data center proposal landed in Menomonie with almost no warning, residents had weeks to fight back. They won — and built a toolkit so other communities can, too.

A roadie once told me about working on one of Dolly Parton’s tours years ago: On the first day of rehearsals, she arrived and gathered the whole crew around to introduce herself. She then lifted her shirt and said “there they are, now you’ve seen ‘em, let’s get to work.” RIP Queen.
