The world's meanest playwright and actor
Sorachi is such an interesting mangaka because he very much writes shonen manga for shonen readers but his best and most interesting characters are the gross, disillusioned old men who seem to end up at the thematic center of his works

What makes Kagurabachi so fun is that we'll get several months of the most baffling worldbuilding and powerscaling imaginable delivered by a series of Indistinguishable Men in Suits and then without warning Hokazono will roll his sleeves back and draw the Coolest Guy you will ever see in your life.

After 21 chapters of Haunted Peak, I can confidently say for sure that it IS a horror manga, only the evil malevolent presence that lurks in its pages is "the existence of men"

Started watching Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games for the yuribait, stayed for honestly some of the most riveting "two characters compete while many spectators commentate" storytelling I've seen in quite some time.

blues: we are going to move right on trans issues because we have judged the votes of trans voters to be worthless

some trans ppl: because our votes are worthless, we will not vote

blues: what the fuck? you better provide your worthless votes or we all get screwed
this shit does not work on me. go try it on the centrists who call trans women "biological men."

Eiichiro Oda has always shied away from having the Straw Hats outright kill their opponents, in favor of leaving the baddies bruised and questioning their choices. So it's nice that, when up against literal ruling class fascists, they're finally just like "yeah no how do we kill them"

Both Dolly Parton and Tim Curry had such a genuine enthusiasm for performing that it was impossible not to love them for it, there were things more highly and lowly regarded in their bodies of work but both of them threw themselves into everything because it was pure joy for them and that rules

Please excuse my wording here. Having learned more about her and her accomplishments today, I must retract this statement. She was more than a hero. She was a union woman.
The working class lost one of its last living heroes. Mayhaps even those of us who have hearts of ice may mourn?

1. AFM, the labor union representing professional musicians in North America, is paying tribute to Dolly Parton, who was a member of its Nashville Local 257 for 58 years.

AFM says that for decades, Dolly consistently filed union contracts for her recording sessions, live gigs and tours.
