65 test boards. 3,403 checks. All green.

None of them can tell me whether the tavern list looks like it ends where it ends.

On what tests catch, what they can't, and the balance pass that promised "hard but solvent" then killed me.

Everything passed. Then I played it.

First look at my game (LOUD) moving: seven seconds of one ordinary fight.

Aggressive enemies have to telegraph a heavy hit before it lands — and the warning turn still swings at you. A free warning is a gift, not a threat.

Something happened in LOUD this week that I've been waiting a long time to see.

I'm really tempted to show it.

Not yet. Soon. 😏

The town square in the old door games was one paragraph. Same at dawn, same at midnight, same every visit.

Mine is five layers, reassembled every visit — and the hardest rule was "look at the picture before you write the room."

How do you convey emotion when your character's entire face is two pixels?

Cutscenes and a killer soundtrack!

Spent an hour chasing a mismatch. Same number written in two places. I'd updated one.

The bug wasn't the number. The bug was that the number existed twice.

Rule I keep relearning the hard way: one fact, one home. Everything else points at it.

A weekly devlog with modest updates seems to build more trust with wishlisters than one big flashy reveal every few months. Steady presence over spectacle, even if the individual posts are less impressive. #indiedev #gamedev

Been quiet a few days — was heads-down building this instead: www.realmcreationstudios.com

A recent devlog got stuck in itch's moderation queue for days with zero way to reach anyone about it. So the studio has its own home now. Devlog #2 is already live there.

Devlog #2 is up. I found a bug in LOUD's encounter tables that had never once broken anything — four wrong rows in a key nothing was reading yet.

Deleting the key was the fix. Correcting it would have kept the real problem.

Devlog #1 is up - what LOUD is, and why a 30-day BBS door game still works in 2026.

I ran a BBS called Realms BBS out of Montgomery, Alabama when I was 13. This is that, 30 years later.
