I’m still pissed off. Even if I didn’t know some of these people personally I’d be pissed at a billion dollar organization cutting costs by firing staff heading into a lockout caused by the owners. I kinda hope no other team does anything to this extent so the Orioles can wear the egg on their face

I don't want to speculate on the salaries of the employees the Orioles just laid off, but $100,000 represents 0.0023% of David Rubenstein's net worth.

I hired the Orioles Bird for my partner's 40th birthday kickball party, on the little league field next to the 33rd st Y, the site of Memorial Stadium. The bird was a surprise and of course a massive hit. Lyle texted me beforehand, breaking the fourth wall. truly a legend, just look at this.

Part of why I don't like the AI-or-bust economy is the constant flopsweat of people on the news who say this HAS to work. Quit making everyone so anxious. Goddamn. If this is the next Google then why are you acting like this? I don't remember being told to buy an iPhone at gunpoint.

im growing tired of the complacency and accepted distinction between generative AI for art/muisc/writing and generative AI for software development/tooling

they are from the same stolen labor, the same environmental destruction, and same sycophancy

I think it’s so disrespectful to voters for a candidate not to put together a solid policy platform and/or not list that on their campaign website

I think what’s most annoying is that none of Albernaz’s assholery is ever directed at the other team or the umps

It’s entirely reserved for his own players and the beat reporters covering the team
Article reminding me Albernaz was a dick to Basallo for no reason in the morning and Jim Palmer podcast about how he was a dick to him for no reason in the afternoon

It’s got the same rythem as a bad lineup being posted and then a bad bullpen call a few hours later

It’s almost comforting

Imagine brushing off Jim Palmer with a thinly veiled insult when you are manager of the Baltimore Orioles

I won’t snitch if you take a seat my friends. I’d venture that the whole city of Baltimore wouldn’t
TSA says it is removing chairs at document checks in airports, requiring staff to stand for their shift.

TSA explained the reason as twofold: to ensure its employees meet its fitness standards and to create an amiable environment for travelers.
TSA officers must now stand up on the job
The agency is removing chairs from document-checking stations.

From 1950 through 1995, the entirety of MLB's postseason aired on free TV. Here's where that line has gone every year since then.

Now I was only half listening, but did anyone else hear on the banner baseball podcast that it’s Elias’ rule that Basallo only catches like half the games?

I keep also coming back to our 22-year-old catcher hitting himself repeatedly in the head after an at-bat. I think the miasma of anger and self-flagellation that surrounds the players is one of the most important things that needs to be addressed for this team to succeed in any way.
