Three amazing things about this 16th century letter:

1. It is written in code.
2. It complains about pirates.
3. It is written by King Henry VIII!

Which reminds me I heard a joke the other day and it unfolded in my mind in your drawing style:
'I finished writing my book on penguins. My publisher said it would have been better if I used paper.'

Exhausting. From left to right, front row: man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man. Middle row: man, man, man, man, woman, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man. Back row: man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man.

I have never added a pub to my bucket list so fucking fast.
The Oxenham Arms pub in South Zeal, Devon, boasts the unusual distinction of having been constructed around two prehistoric standing stones.

If you’re lucky and visit at the right time of day, as I did, you might also see the smaller of the two being recharged with sacred energy by the sun.

Another great indie bookshop worth checking out (even if you can't get there in person)!
Everything Will Swallow You is one of the most beautiful and thoughtful books I’ve read in ages. One of those books that lingers for a long time. Thank you. Read here in West Cork thanks to Dubray Books (Irish indie which also does free delivery)

If anyone would like a signed one of these, with a free linocut bookmark by my mum, do drop me an email at [email protected]. I still have a handful left.

Sorry, only sending to UK due to postage costs, but if you are outside the UK, Blackwell's will of course send you the book with free delivery.
In the spirit of the 1980's balloon races that are (rightly)no longer environmentally acceptable, here we are enjoying the Sicilian sun.

Tried to get a good picture of Mt Etna billowing smoke ominously in the background, but couldn't work out a good 'everything will spew you back out' pun, sorry

Such a shame this isn't eligible for the 'Best photo of a 16th Century dovecote with a cow standing in front of it, surrounded by buttercups, looking like she has just dropped a second album she's slightly disappointed by' award
Very probably the best photo I've ever taken of a 16th Century dovecote with a cow standing in front of it, surrounded by buttercups, looking like she has just dropped a debut album she is thoroughly proud of.

I promise this is significantly better if you read it all the way to the end.

I mean, I would say that, wouldn’t I, but, honestly, it really is.

There’s also an audio version at the top, read by me, if you’re tired of reading stuff off screens.
