Brittany Cox is an actor - Fortnite, Genshin Impact, Fallout 76, WWE 2K22, and more where she didn't just stand in one place and spoke into a mic.

She moved. She shot those arrows, punched those baddies, and jumped over those barriers.

Believably. 😤

Come learn from one of the best. RedScythe.com

Here's a line: "I wish I could go back."

I could be sitting in front of my son's grave, 6 bottles of soju in, and finally starting to come to terms about that day. How I could have fought to keep him home instead of letting him go to that party three years ago.

Which story do you see?

This is the LAST CALL for tomorrow's Notes From Casting session with @soughtaftercast.bsky.social !

Audition feedback from a casting director is as direct as it could possibly be. 😤 Here's your chance to see how your audition process stacks up to a casting director's expectations.

A moment of vulnerability: Through acting, I've discovered that I can be very cruel. Heartless, even.

Doesn't mean that I inherently am. Nor that I would choose to act upon those impulses. But I've discovered that I am capable.

Have you learned about yourself through a character you've played?
September 8, 2026 at 3:41 PM
Notes From Casting is a mock-audition session. You'll send in a mock audition mp3 and @soughtaftercast.bsky.social - a casting director - will review it, offer feedback, and direct your performance live in the session, to bring you closer to what they would have liked to hear.

Now that's impact. 😤

Confidence comes from things we know.

Confidence in grilling that steak because you know precisely how. Confidence in that upcoming test because you know the material well. Confidence in voice acting because you know yourself.

Know yourself well. And allow that confidence to speak into the mic.

This is the LAST CALL for tomorrow's lecture with @cuicuivo.bsky.social!

Number of auditions and bookings aren't the only things you can keep track of. There are many other data-aspects of VO such as invoices, finances, NDAs, expense categories, and more.

Be more informed about your business. 😤

And when that *effortless* characterization happens, 😍.

It's very much a sensation - it's something you can *feel.* People will ask "how did that feel?" That's what they mean - did it feel so effortlessly authentic to you and your human character? As if you'd naturally do it that way IRL? ❤️

This is the LAST-CALL for tomorrow's IN-PERSON video game workshop with Maddie Stratton!

Pardon my Korean, but she's hella fun. 😆 And she's one hell of a director. Working with good directors is always a good thing and you'll get a lot out of it. 💪

See you there. THREE seats left.

Cinematic AAA games *sound* different.

It's real. Raw. Vulnerable. And the actor cannot hide behind a *voice* or a *performance.*

Leave your theatrical masks behind and let's get deeper into your character, your human. 😤

FOUR seats left!

Come work with a fantastic director in the AAA video game space. 😤 Maddie is credited with Ghost of Yōtei, Destiny 2, God of War Ragnarök, Fallout 76, and more.

Come see what cinematic, grounded characters feel like - you're going to play one in the future. Right? 💪

Obviously, there is no *one* correct answer. My advisement also fluctuates depending on with whom I'm talking and their journeys thus far. But for majority of the time, I think relocating to a VO hub is an advisable execution *after* you've built a network of people who *expects* you to be there.

Your VO journey is, indeed, a business. And a disorganized business is an unproductive business. 😤

Get organized with @davidcuicui.com - David is a voice actor and analyst, and he loves data. 🥰 He's helped many with his spreadsheet(s) and he'd like to help you get organized, too.

To this day, I use numerous fictitious characters in my audition approach. I cast them into the story I've created, and exist in that imagined reality for the 7-12 seconds that it takes.

Because Tifa is real to me. Gaming is real to me.

Do I still have a crush on Tifa? OF COURSE I DO. 😍😆

Two reasons:
1. He's a fantastic director. And working with fantastic directors makes you a better actor.

Build a habit of using "I" - the first-person pronoun - when it comes to acting. Make it yours and live inside the story, instead of describing it from the outside.

"What are some things I could do outside of coaching/workshops to improve?"

Google "free monologues." There is an ocean of monologues out there - mostly for theatre students - that you can play with. Work with them every day: cold reading, script analysis, Swiss Cheese, and more.

And once you obtain the skill, you hone it. Maintain it. Sharpen it. And figure out different ways to use it - in animation, in video games, in commercials, in promos, and more.

Give yourself the time. I am. It's necessary. And join me in working everyday to be a better actor than yesterday.
