Born in Leeds, raised in Weymouth and now settled in Ham straddling the Kingston/Richmond border in SW London. I love walking, theatre, architecture, politics, radio drama, pubs and reading comics.
I took 2 mins to respond to Ofwat's consultation to demand they BLOCK the water bill hike. If water companies can't survive without hiking our bills, let them go bust and bring them into public ownership at zero cost.

Ofwat: No to water bills hike, let them go bust - Respond by midnight on Thursday 24th September
Demand that Ofwat says no to bill hikes. Let water companies go bust and bring them into public ownership for nothing.

It was back on the London Loop today, 14km on sections 22 and 23. For the most part this was following Ingerbourne through a succession of parks and nature reserves with @gojauntly.bsky.social as our guide and #CityStrides to record it. #LoveLondonWalkLondon

I’ve signed this petition because we’ve already seen what climate change is doing to people’s health and to our ability to grow food.

Walking #LondonLoop Section 20, guided by @gojauntly.bsky.social, took me around and across several fields in a rural area that was part of Essex until 1965 and, frankly, should have stayed there. It is quite pretty but it is not London.

I really loved A Slow Fire at @jstheatre.bsky.social. I went because Simon Stephens wrote it and loved it even more because of the echoes of Philip Ridley's The Pitchfork Disney.

Commission an immediate public inquiry into how to ensure a responsible press given its contribution to Dr Arday’s tragic death.

One of the largest gatherings of Muslims targeted by far right terrorists and we have close to radio silence... The media, politicians from across the board, pundits... all seem to be taking a minimalist approach...
This is how institutional Islamophobia works.

I only signed up to the Met Engage community policing newsletters out of curiosity and, as expected, they have no value apart from some amusing standard text:

"SNT will do more patrols in the area going forward."

What they neglect to tell us is which areas they will therefore be patrolling less.

You know the heatwave is serious when Glyndebourne waives its dress code.

"Evening wear is customary at Glyndebourne, but in these conditions we actively encourage you to interpret that loosely. "

Sadly a dinner jacket is all I have that is smart enough, at least I can ditch the waistcoat.
