UK domestic recycling rates have been flatlining for 15 years.

44.5% of UK household waste in 2024 was recycled, barely a change from 44.6% in 2023 and 44.1% in 2022.

The Deposit Return Scheme, set for launch in Autumn 2027, will be essential to drive up recycling rates.
