For 50 years, the Hyde Amendment has blocked insurance coverage for abortions, harming people of color, LGBTQ+ people, and those with disabilities.

Politicians have interfered with people’s medical decisions for too long.

It’s time to end the Hyde Amendment.

I personally know the power of ACCESS after they helped my own family and have worked there myself.

So, I was thrilled to celebrate their new center, which will provide behavioral services and substance use treatment. They can transform a whole family and community.

ICE killed another man. His name is Mario David Coronado Juarez.

Mario lived and worked in Michigan for 7 years as a construction worker, sending money home to his kids in Guatemala.

ICE pursued him in an unmarked car, causing a fatal car crash.

These killings have to stop. #AbolishICE.

Wilber Rafael Garces Perez was shot by ICE while working as a food delivery driver. They handcuffed him as he was bleeding and didn’t even allow his wife to see him in the hospital.

There needs to be an independent investigation of this cruelty. ICE must be abolished.

My neighbors keep me rooted in community. I was proud to welcome leaders from all across Detroit and Southeastern Michigan to our Annual 313 at the CBC Breakfast.

For 60 years, Head Start has served over 40 million families and children with social services, healthcare, and improved early learning standards.

TSA's use of facial recognition at our airports is not only a violation of our privacy, it's not even secured. An Inspector General report just found that a private vendor was able to extract sensitive passenger data without TSA's knowledge, and passengers were never (cont in image...)
