Yesterday in Juneau we had several major events… our GLOF (glacial outburst flood) was lower than expected, happened on record breaking sunny day, we also had a plane ditch into the river and had a wild fire. Any single one a major news event on its own.
In Juneau on Thursday, the high temperature was 80º, setting a record for the date and marking only the second 80-degree day this year in Alaska's state capital. Today could be the third day to hit the mark (and maybe the last of the year?) #akwx

Yesterday in Juneau we had several major events… our GLOF (glacial outburst flood) was lower than expected, happened on record breaking sunny day, we also had a plane ditch into the river and had a wild fire. Any single one a major news event on its own.
The basin is full. GLOF predicted 1-6 days.
Suicide Basin, the source of Juneau’s annual glacial outburst floods, is full. The 2026 flood is expected to occur within one to six days.
