Every iHeartRadio podcast ad is so obnoxious and / or terrible that I refuse to believe actual human beings with a discernible pulse listen to this shit. My analysis is based on years and years of cringing and fumbling for the skip ahead button.

I think this is correct, and I've been thinking a lot about what replaces all this stuff. If it is going away, you'd think the institutional players would have some idea of what might take its place. But they don't seem to have a vision for that, or any interest in it. It's private equity mindset.
Fun part about David Ellison destroying CBS News, 60 Minutes and his late-night show is that he'll never be able to get any of it back. You could argue that latter was heading toward obsolescence anyway, but the Weiss-ification of the news has led to a permanent erosion of trust.

I said Carney would he Harper 2.0. I would rather not be right.
The Carney Liberals are pursuing straight Conservative policies: privatization, attacking labour, rolling back enviro policies, tax cuts for the wealthy, huge military spending, rolling back healthcare, bitumen pipelines…
No wonder Jason Kenney’s cheering.

Ed Sheeran doing a good job showing what true cowardice is. What a loathsome little goblin. What's the point of having like $400m if you're still a spineless piece of shit.

It's not elder abuse if it's Mitch McConnel, it's penance. I hope he lives another 20 years trapped in a prison of continually failing flesh. There is no limit to the indignities he deserves.

Maybe this just my non-American perspective, but those outcomes seemed obvious to me, sitting in Canada, watching multiple presidents lob bombs at the middle east whenever they needed to prove their toughness. I was 18.
He was calling the next 20 years on SEPTEMBER 12TH, 2001

If I had written these words on that day, and been THIS CORRECT, literally no one could tell me nothing for the rest of my life.

I think most people who live in cities understand that, as a matter of how many people they encounter per day, statistically, they will see someone mentally unwell in a way they cannot help and choose not engage with them. That wisdom needs to also be applied to people addicted to Arguing Online.

Canada’s global rankings have fallen across democracy, transparency, press freedom, and living standards. Writer and lawyer Matt Malone argues that reversing the decline requires rebuilding the institutions meant to hold government accountable. https://ow.ly/bAlL50ZMOIr

Lot of people joking about this and for sure it’s funny but also: NVIDIA has sold a lot of GPUs and it appears the vast, vast majority of them have not been installed, unless Microsoft, the first company to build AI data centers with the most experience and did so years in advance, is bad at it!

This actually blows my mind how wrong he was. I guess America started tearing itself apart so quickly, I assumed *that* was the plan...
This piece was fascinating, getting at a point I'd never considered: bin-Laden's entire concept about what 9/11 would do to America was just... wrong. www.theatlantic.com/magazine/202...

Got excited for a new Saor album. Then I saw it's re-recordings, which is always dicey. But "Hearth" is on there and it's one of my favourite songs so maybe things will work out.
