Olaf, in a rare display of non-favoritism, has brought both his Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and his Hershey Bar stuffed squeaky toys over to the rug with him. He still prefers the Reese’s toy, but it’s nice to see the Hershey Bar getting some love as well 😂

Olaf has really been enjoying the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup squeaky dog toy that we brought him back from our weekend at HersheyPark. We also bought him a Hershey Bar version, but he seems to be partial to this one. He’s been carrying it around all over the place!

I’m not sure if this is the fledgling that had been walking around my backyard a few weeks ago, but a now adult green heron is perched on the top of my backyard fence this morning. I never used to see herons here until last summer, but they now appear to be regular visitors!

For the second year in a row, a green heron fledgling has come to hang out in our backyard! Last year, we had a fledgling stay for about a week until it flew off. We’ve been in this house for almost 20 years, and we never saw herons back there until last year.

I still find it so hard to believe that Olaf spent the first 4 years of his life at a puppy mill, before being found by the rescue agency and then coming to us. He is just the best little dog and has adapted so well to being part of our family!

I am pretty lucky that Olaf is only about 9 pounds. I would not be able to work like this if he were, let’s say, a standard poodle! But he’s small enough that I can just reach right over him, access my keyboard and do my job 😂
