NFLD’er on PEI. Canon and Fuji shooter. Habs nut. Maybe just overall nut.
Checked out of my hotel. Asked front desk to call a cab for me. The guy grabs his phone, says “Yes” five times in about 20 seconds. Two minutes later there’s a cab outside.

This dominates an end wall in one of the galleries at Canada’s National Art Gallery. It’s quite an affront to the corneas.

Walked out of my hotel and found this going on. I’m not sure if it was summoning or banishing, but there were demons involved.

Kidding! They were actually very good. Mephistopheles and Beelzebub agree! Kidding!!

Quick Canadiana question for you: What’s on the other side of this bridge?

Answer: in the words of the esteemed Canadian geographer Alanis Morrissette - you, you, you, Gatineau!

Turns out they actually allow idiots to stand on the (non-active) locks at the Rideau Canal while boats are going through.

Interactive display at the Canadian War Museum. Why do you tempt me, Satan?

Good morning from Ottawa, the happiest place on Earth! (May not be accurate.)

Asked a guy for directions to the War Museum. I was halfway through an exhibit on stiletto heels before I realized he may have misheard me.

Just wanting it to stop raining long enough for me to get out and water the plants.

Hi - I’m Rodney, an accountant/consultant living in PEI.

There’s a video where Annie Lennox, David Bowie & the surviving members of Queen are performing “Under Pressure.” She really leans into it during the bridge and it always moves me.

George Michael is in the wings singing along. It’s magic.
Hi, I'm Amanda - a chemist and silly goose living on PEI

Miike Snow's My Heart is Full has the line "I don't worry about tomorrow" where the lead singer rolls the r and it's delightful
Hi, I’m Keith Burgoyne. I'm an app developer & book lover from Prince Edward Island.

I love the moment in Dirty Women by Black Sabbath when Ozzy belts the lyrics straight from his diaphragm. Gives his voice a gutteral quality.

Would you like to introduce yourself with a small song moment you like?

Album of the night:

Life After Death by Biggie Smalls

Not my regular genre by any means. Trying to broaden my horizons a bit.

Brought the deck chair cushions in out of the rain. They immediately became the most desirable cat hangout in the house.

We picked up some new cleaning supplies recently. Jenni took one look at these and called them “Gritty Gloves”.

She knows who Gritty is, folks. She’s a keeper.

Not even one of them. This might be my proudest day ever.

**Looks at wife

This is my second proudest day ever.

i’ve heard of 11 out of 25

On the topic of Canadian culture, this is a slice of Newfoundland that many forget. The stories first appeared as a series of radio broadcasts from 1947-53 and appeared as a CBC TV series.

@cdnhistoryehx.bsky.social have you done anything on these stories?

I was reading the USA list if demands. Buried in the section on Border Controls, I found:

——-

Article 79 (c) The Littlest Hobo shall be required to carry a passport at all times and use only official border crossings.

——-

That’s a no for me.

Dude, NO ONE wants to be an American…not Canadians, not Australians, not the French, not the British…NONE.

And, can someone PLEASE explain to this idiot how tariffs work - for farmers to be “charged” tariffs, they would have to be created by the American government.
