My Macbook’s drive is at 85%, mostly due to a lot of photos stored in Photos.app. So I started looking around for an external SSD to move a lot of photos there (and planning to combine this with moving from iCloud to Immich). But seeing the actual price increases (at least doubled) is off-putting…

Many years ago, Salt Lake City Utah did the same experiment with the same results. They took the biggest users of social services and housed them along with resources.

It was *cheaper* than not doing that and they had better outcomes.
