Hi, writers! If you are looking for an affordable developmental editor for your fiction manuscript, please consider me.

This type of edit focuses on: characters (arc, goals, development, consistency, perspective, voice, ect.), plot, voice, worldbuilding consistency, pace, style of narration, ect.
Y'all, I finished my first draft of my Red Riding Hood reimagining. I'm so excited!
I wrote most of this while in a mental health episode, so revisions will be...interesting. But that's a problem for Future Me mwahaha!
Now, I'm relieved to have finished my first romantic subplot

Around this time of year, I think about the first job I had after moving out on my own. The owners took me under their wings, invited me for holidays, and told me stories of university in Nigeria.
They passed, but I wish I could eat their cooking again. I'd love to write about them one day.

I figured out how to log back in :)

Just to put this out there, I do developmental editing for fiction, typically fantasy. This is the type of editing that focuses on character and plot development, structure, world building, & nitty-gritty details.
I'm struggling to find work lately (thanks Elon).

Just found out that celery does not taste like soap to most people...what does it taste like?

Omg, I love my sister so much.
I've written two picture books, got halfway through the illustrations for book number one, decided that coloring sucks while being colorblind, and abandoned those endeavors.
My sister volunteered to color for me!

On today's aggenda:
See that the tp needs changing. Grab new roll. Drop entire roll in toilet.
Wonder how this happened for an hour.
Change the Glade plug-in. Instantly forget. Smell flowers for seemingly no reason. Look up stroke symptoms.
Can't wait to see what the rest of the day looks like...

I did it! I finally introduced the necromancer in my WIP's rough draft.
I woke up after my panic attack nap, and my mind was so clear for once. I am so excited. I still have another one or two drafts before I move on, but I'll be starting Act 4! Yay!

Now that I'll be introducing the necromancer at the end of this chapter, I have to finalize what this person looks like. It's crazy because I see the monster so clearly, but the necromancer is just a floating personality in my head.

I'm finally starting the chapter where I introduce the necromancer in my WIP. I am so fucking excited, and soon, I'll be starting Act 4.

Writing community, would it be fitting to compare a salmon run to a yearly pilgrimage? I can't tell if it fits the definition properly. They're not technically going to a holy place, but I think it can be argued that the breeding ground could be considered sacred.
Thoughts?

Having a wolf as a core character is actually more valuable than I expected. My human characters are planning to ambush a monster, but the wolf reminded them about scent.
(These are not humans who hunt land animals.)

Hi, I edit fiction, especially fantasy (which is what I have most experience with), and I would love to work for you to make your vision shine through.
DM me, I offer an "audition" of the first 1k words if needed.

I just broke my 14yo MC's worldview that the good guy always saves the day.

Writers, how do we feel about italicizing only part of a word, for example, emphasizing a certain syllable in order to denote sarcasm?

My sister's coworker doesn't believe that space exists, and to explain rockets, she says they hit the top (of our atmosphere maybe?) and fall right into the ocean. I have a list of things for my sister to ask her. This is my life now.

Hi, writing community! I'm a freelance editor for fiction, and I have a spot open. If requested, I can provide a sample edit of 1000 words. You can check out my reviews on my website in my profile. I've lately been working with existing customers, and I don't ask for second or more reviews.

Last night I finished my first chapter since my med change, and now, I'm beginning my first rough draft of a new chapter in my main WIP in 7 months.
I'll be beginning Act 3 of 4. Yay!

Also I have an editing slot open. If interested, DM me. I offer samples, hurray!

I asked for a mini guillotine for Christmas, and every single one of my family members was like, "No. What else do you want?"
"I also want a lobotomy kit."
"Goddamn it, Rae. Just be normal for once!"
Sigh. No one gets me.

I miss the writing community from when Twitter was Twitter. I haven't found my friends yet here.

After more than seven months of dealing with antipsychotic med changes that completely flipped my creative ability upside-down, I'm finally returning to my Red Riding Hood reimagining where "Red" saves the wolf from a necromancer. I cannot express how excited I am.

I tend to write gender-neutral main characters just going about their lives. Being non-binary isn't on the forefront of my mind at all times, but I choose to write characters like me partly as a form of rebellion and partly because it's easier.

I've been writing a lot of poetry lately, and I've almost filled one of the journals I've been hoarding! That's a win for all writers! Hurray!
