Doing a linear stretch on these images shows how dramatic the "edits" were, revealing the deception in clear terms.

This should be a complete scandal for Thermo Fisher and more people in the biosciences should be talking about it.
The Thermo Fisher situation keeps getting worse. We've now collected 450+ problematic images presented as verification data in TF's antibody catalog. This includes:

🖌️ Dozens more images with duplications or painting
🖨️ Hundreds of blots that all share the same background (behold slideshow below)

Found this out earlier when trying to enter my grades. The university hadn't even sent anything about it yet. 🙃
Kind of surprised that this hasn't been bigger news. It's finals week for a whole lot of universities, and yet, Canvas (a learning/grading platform used by ~9,000 schools globally) is currently inaccessible because of a pay-or-have-your-data-leaked hack.

“PAY OR LEAK”: Hackers Target Big Higher Ed Vendor
The criminal extortion group ShinyHunters breached Instructure last week. The hackers, who have also attacked individual universities, demanded the ed-tech giant pay up or face a data leak.

I am on version 10 of my NIH Common Form cv because I spent the last 2 hours doing HTML formatting on the text and finding things I missed formatting.

My heart goes out to all the reviewers who will be reading biosketches next round that are a sea of plaintext with no white space.
