Fishbone at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor in probably 2001. One of the members of the band, wearing nothing but some tighty whities, attempted to get a drink at the bar before their set but was denied because he couldn’t show ID. “I’m in the band. I don’t have pockets.” Too bad.

Had tix for Beastie Boys, Rage Against the Machine and At the Drive-In. Show was cancelled because one of the Beastie Boys fell off his bicycle. Never got to see any of them.

As a guy in my 40s I have embraced my responsibly to call out my friends when they turn into old cranks
there's a lot of dunking on kids and "kids today" in the comments, and can I just cordially request that as millennials we, uh, don't fucking do that? it's the worst trait of gen x and boomers. we could just NOT do that. this isn't a story of "kids today" its adults Big Brothering society.

This just triggered so many memories of people I grew up around in suburban Detroit telling stories of the horrors they’ve witnessed in the city, except that invariably their stories all took place outside of the Renaissance Center because it was the only place in the city they knew by name.
I love it when scared suburbanites have to regale us with the tales of how they saw a couple homeless people in downtown Salt Lake

I saw this in the theater and when this happened a guy a couple rows up stood up, made finger guns at the screen and yelled “Take that, bitch!” It’s still my greatest movie experience.
I loved what Tarantino did with Bridget Fonda and Robert De Niro in that sequence in JACKIE BROWN where she keeps goading him and goading him until he pulls out his gun and shoots her dead. It's so surprising, it's perfect. It's a wonderful sequence. I liked that movie. (2001)
