Can we take any of the plans for MLK Jr way S off the shelf yet?
Our community, our friends, family, and neighbors keep paying the cost of building a surface highway with light rail at grade on MLK instead of a safe street.
There have been far too many meetings with no outcomes and plans sitting on shelves about this street.
When will the city act?

So I'm organizing a Labor Day bike ride along LWB to celebrate (and lament) the last Bicycle Weekend of the year. Starting at 2pm 9/7 @ Judkins Park Station.
Should be pretty casual, everyone is welcome (except pro car protestors).

When Lake Washington Boulevard is open to people it connects them to the communities in the Southend. Drivers have plenty of direct routes that get them to our communities, people on bikes currently lack even one!
Hillman City Block Party is an absolute blast.
We biked car-free Lake Washington Blvd to get there. I love living in south Seattle. I love a Seattle summer.

When Lake Washington Boulevard is open to people it connects them to the communities in the Southend. Drivers have plenty of direct routes that get them to our communities, people on bikes currently lack even one!

I simply do not believe the Seattle Times Editorial Board would be writing an entire op-ed about a city maintenance project's potential impact on a small business if they didn't get to throw in a jab at Bicycle Weekends at the same time.

Hello from Cleveland HS where Katie Wilson will be announcing a Vision Zero Executive Order in a few minutes.
We are extremely excited to see this EO roll out in D2. For far too long D2 has seen a disproportionate number of deaths due to unsafe streets. We look forward to working with @mayor.seattle.gov, @cmeddielin.bsky.social, and @councilmember-amr.bsky.social to eliminate these preventable deaths.
This EO will be rolled out tomorrow in District 2, with Eddie Lin and Alexis Mercedes Rinck on hand. Not on the speakers list: Rob Saka.
NEWS: Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson is rolling out a substantive Executive Order dealing with traffic safety tomorrow that is expected to direct SDOT to accelerate work on both new and currently planned Vision Zero projects.

Coming soon to Henderson! Really nice to see some protected scooter/bike infrastructure in Rainier Valley. (If only it connected to other projected infrastructure so you could get somewhere...)

Bus lanes that go away when they are most needed don't solve the problems that bus riders have today with our slow and delayed buses.
I'm getting pretty concerned about a lack of coordination between SDOT and Metro on RapidRide R. SDOT is looking at bus lanes on Jackson between 3rd and 5th - why not the whole corridor? How will the Jackson Street Vision Zero project interact with transit? So many questions.
