Visiting Montreal was an interesting experience. I didn't realize it was the 8th most populated city in North America until Googling it while standing atop Mont Royal Park looking at the downtown skyline.

After spending three nights in Bar Harbor, Maine, we moved onto Quebec City for another three nights. I didn't photograph that much as I wasn't feeling well and had previously photographed a decade ago when I was working for Backroads but my wife and kids hadn't been to Quebec so it was fun.

Acadia National Park in Maine, had long been on my bucket list. What an incredible place! I didn't photograph that much but really enjoyed it here despite warmer than expected weather. I reserved tickets too late for Cadillac Mountain to see sunrise but it was still beautiful by mid-morning.

After a few days on Cape Cod, we moved onto Rockport for a night which is located on the tip of Cape Ann. I stopped here for lunch previously in 2019 during a fall color photo trip so I knew it would be place that the family would like as well.

P.S. Roy Moore has the best lobster.

I just returned from a 16-day trip to the East Coast & Quebec. Cape Cod's topography isn't photogenic in the way that the west coast is but my approach to photography is more about what the images represent. Cape Cod has an understated beauty to it and we had a great time there.

Upper Yosemite Falls last month from Cook's Meadow. It had been years since I had photographed Yosemite in the middle of spring so it was fun to take my kids to the big waterfalls during Spring Break.

Before sending random emails to people asking “to be represented” how about read their website first and see if that even makes sense rather than email multiple times hoping for a response. Sorry but get on my nerves and I’ll report your lazy ass as spam.

Lake Tahoe Panoramic a few weeks ago, two days after a spring snowstorm. My daughter had never seen snow in-person before so we went during the kid's spring break before spending the rest of the week in Yosemite.

Looks like I missed the window to reserve a Cadillac Mountain sunrise reservation next month. Kind of lame that you even need one.

My other photography site recently had a much-needed face lift, courtesy of Claude Code. People spend so much time bashing this stuff when you can actually do productive work with the tools. www.fineartphotographyprints.com

Am I imagining it or has the food gotten worse in Yosemite? World class scenery, no-class dining.

Almond Blossoms, Stanislaus County - The Sierra has been getting lots of snow. Meanwhile the valley has lots of "Valley Snow".

Lake Manly Panoramic - Death Valley National Park

What struck me most about this scene was how silent it was at Badwater Basin before sunrise. I was here probably 30 minutes before the next person showed up.

Devil's Golf Course - Death Valley National Park

Devil's Golf Course is one of the most unusual landscapes that I've ever seen. As soon as you step out of the car, you're surrounded by mounds of salt crystals as if someone went through and made sandcastles out of salt.

Anticrepuscular Rays Over Lake Manly at Dawn, Death Valley National Park, California

The combination of wide-open landscapes & high desert light makes Death Valley a landscape photographer's paradise.

Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes was a beautiful place but the amount of people there got me a bit flustered. If I had a few more days I would have explored in the morning.

When most people cleared out I photographed a lone photographer atop the highest dunes for scale.

Zabriskie Point Earth Shadow - Death Valley National Park

One of my favorite things about photographing the high desert during the winter months are the beautiful skies.

Zabriskie Point Badlands - Death Valley NP

Typically I wouldn't be photographing landscapes midday due to the harsh light but the combination of erosion patterns and bright colored stone at Zabriskie Point created a lot of interesting patterns to work with.
