I attended a Drink and Draw charity art event at Dice and Comics Cafe in Seoul. The theme was Batman, so I put him in a Bat Book Club.

I've never bothered to give him attention, and still won't, but there's a cartoonist who went all-in on anti-woke "making comics great again" and buddied up with book banners.
He just started a "Based Book Club" where folks can subscribe to get monthly books with "No minorities or women. Period."

The main character starts the story silent, too traumatized to speak while another character rambles about inane stuff she doesn't care about.
But then how would I show that the main character was the main character?

Sorry to break the kayfabe, but too many people didn't realize that when Mr. Rogers was telling them they're special and worthy of kindness that he was simultaneously telling everyone else in the world the same thing. That's what you were supposed to get out of it. Not that only you matter.

Author scam emails are so common now you'd think they'd have gotten good at it.
I get dozens of emails a week about book clubs, but can spot scams instantly. Actual book clubs don't write 6 paragraphs about the benefit of being featured in a book club. It's a book club. They just read your book.

There were so many things I used to feel obligated to support for the sake of community, until the organizers started doing AI nonsense. Now I am free to ignore them guilt-free.
So, in a way, LLMs HAVE simplified and streamlined my life. Just not in any of the ways its inventors intended.

Now more than ever, artists and writers truly need to read and understand everything we sign. Anything important to you needs to be written down in the contract, no matter who it's from. Trust and personal assurances mean nothing anymore.

For anyone thinking about buying a $2000 foldy phone, know that we've had those in Korea for years. You can only open it a certain number of times before it breaks forever, and on a new model that number is going to be very low.
