My interest in age care is now very personal as well as policy. This is ridiculous. There's a positive sunami of very old, already a struggle to attract and retain appropriate staff. Anything making that worse will immediately impact the hospital system, which is currently struggling with bedblock.
Hacking into things Campbell Newman style as a response to populism is only going to impact the most vulnerable. Straight away this migration plan will hit sectors like aged care, putting increased workload on the existing labour force. #auspol www.abc.net.au/news/2026-10...
Taylor concedes aged care workers would be hit by migration plan
Angus Taylor acknowledges some aged care workers would be affected by the Coalition's proposed migration changes, as business and education groups warn of wider economic damage.

This is a hero, Y'all. Well done, Ma'am. You're gonna kick ass in your new position. ✊📖

Buy this book. Then you too can sit on the Northern Line and be stared at by 3 strangers for snorting loudly at "He'd read The Lord of the Rings and its most notable aggregate effect had been to make him want to drop-kick a hobbit".
FUCK IT. Let's give away 3 more signed paperbacks of my latest novel, each with fab linoprint bookmarks, made by my mum Jo.

Yes. That’s always been the case with the Tories. But in the past they’ve been clever enough to lie about the fact they exist to enrich the 1% at the expense of the 99%.

But not Badenoch!

This is a good illustration of how so much of AI theft isn't indirect (ie, data sucked into a model to train the chatbot) - it's actually **direct** copying, but *enabled* by GenAI.

Of course it is: chatbots absolutely suck at creating good, new stuff.

they always show their asses eventually because the thing is that you cannot truly, sincerely care about women if you don’t care about trans women. the minute you carve off any one subcategory of women you claim are “lesser” in some way, you’ve declared women’s rights to be conditional by definition
It’s notable how many anti-trans activists who claim their actions are motivated by a desire to “protect women,” are currently attacking Jane Doe and defending the men who she says assaulted her. It’s almost like “protecting women” never had anything to do with it.

This is almost exactly what I say to my students. I don't have any use for your essays! You have use for your essays!
One thing I find endlessly funny about the rise of AI is that it has revealed that there is a large number of people who believe that the reason they wrote essays at school or university is their teachers were desperately waiting for them to provide a definite answer to “Lear: what’s up with him?”
"By using AI, tasks like essays that used to take hours can be completed in minutes!"

Sure, like how if I arrive at the gym and immediately go for a shower, my workout is done in record time. And if I throw my sandwiches straight in the bin, I can finish my lunch in under 10 seconds.

As long as folks have been around Bluesky, I think many still operate on that passive mode that most platforms have pushed us into.

If you like my or someone else’s art, there’s nothing wrong with reposting it! I make my stuff so everyone can see it.

Sharing is caring, as they say.
Bluesky is a global platform with no algorithm.

If somebody was asleep or offline doing xyz when you posted that awesome art or promo or MA request, they need you to repost it it or else they might never see it!

Reblog that shit. Do it for your friend in New Zealand who works the nightshift, okay?

Go to the pub, order several drinks and then just go tip them straight into the toilet. It saves a whole afternoon - no more time wasted sitting around listening to your friends, taking in the vibe and drinking your drinks.

I fucking love high school drama kids

not a cishet to be found for love nor money

the male romantic lead is being played by a shaven-haired butch with a PUNCH NAZIS patch on their leather vest and a guillotine earring

they asked if I’ve looked up my plays on AO3

I would die for these Youths
I get to sit in on rehearsal for this today and I’m very excited (apparently they got permission from The Decemberists to use their music for like a movement piece where all the kids play their D&D characters????)

all my pop culture references are so 2018 though, I gotta let them change some shit
HEY PORTLAND

Jefferson High School is doing my play about RPGs and online harassment and misogynist violence in geek spaces, and I'm wildly excited to see it again onstage for the first time since Ida B. Wells High School premiered it in 2018

Hope you all can make it! I'm proud of this one
