We deserve a system that supports people when they’ve been harmed and a process where those who cause harm face accountability. But, our current system is falling short of these promises. As #OR considers new prison construction, we need a transparent, community-engaged, long-term corrections plan.

Yesterday, our Policy Team organized key leaders to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee about prioritizing a transparent, long-term, community-engaged corrections plan which includes proven interventions to reduce and repair harm while holding people accountable.

Oregon’s Earned Discharge Program breaks the harmful cycle of surveillance for those formerly incarcerated
