Just went through income verification for my student loans. My payments starting next month are 5x what I'm paying now. From $200 to $1000/mn. On the plus side, my loans will be forgiven in 4.5 years. On the downside, the tax bill from that "income" will be in the tens of thousands of dollars.

As a Sailor and former crewmember of an aircraft carrier, I feel so bad for everyone there. Not just the Sailors on the Lincoln, but on the entire Battle Group. 260+ days at sea is absolutely insane! And no amount of Beer Days can make up for lack of shore leave.

The damage this administration has done to US credibility in science and medicine will be felt for decades. Without serious reform, no one is going to trust that the CDC, FDA, NIH or other agencies aren't spewing partisan info, or that the next admin won't change these agencies' position on things.
I’m hard pressed to come up with any single thing that has been studied as much as vaccines & autism (vaxx safety in general), or as debunked as a link between vaccines & autism.

The worst heat I ever experienced was in the steam engine room of the USS Enterprise during summer in the Persian Gulf. Ambient temperature was 140°F and high humidity. One corner was 170°F. We kept "cool" by standing in front of 2ft diameter vents blowing 110°F air from outside. It sucked.

I'll be honest, even though I fall under the ace spectrum, being demi, I have a hard time identifying as part of LGBTQIA+ without feeling like I'm appropriating it. I mean, I'm a cishet guy who just doesn't form sexual attraction to people easily -- I have to *really* get to know someone for that. 🤷♂️
