TLDR: Has our community just been swindled?

We are about to hear an announcement today from the Labor government about our long suffering Upfield train line - BUT - here is the info you need to decode it.
Level crossings on hold as Labor vows to fix Melbourne’s most unreliable train line
Services on the Upfield line will increase by 50 per cent under the government’s latest election promise, but drivers will continue to face long commute times.

Well done to the majority of Merri-bek Councillors tonight who pushed for strong action to support the community campaign to save our youth centre in Brunswick ✊🏾

After more than 6,000 people signed a petition, it was disappointing to see all the Labor councillors either vote against or abstain.

Group voting tickets have been abolished finally!

Tim Read has been driving this reform on behalf of the Greens for years.

For anyone ever wondering why vote Greens - this is why.

We get things done for our democracy and a better future 💚

Tonight’s Four Corners expose into ‘affordable housing’ revealed how Labor federal & state govts are basically using public money to prop up private development - resulting in homes that are NOT actually affordable.

Too many homes are left empty & many return to full price after a certain period.

Labor in the UK are starting to apologise for their response to the genocide in Gaza.

Years later, after over 70,000 Palestinians were killed, now they say they have realised they should have done more to hold Israel to account.

How long before Labor in Australia does the same?

It’s too late Pauline!

We ARE a multicultural community and there is no going back.

First Nations were here first, all of us came after.

Labor look set to capitulate once again to the fossil fuel lobby and walk away from a 25% export tax on gas revenue.

These mega-profitable corporations are able to extract a natural resource - that belongs to all of us - without paying their fair share.

These jokers from the Liberals, Nationals and One Nation are about to ratchet up the assault on Australia’s multiculturalism and the place of migrants in our society.

Angus Taylor claims too many self-serving migrants are draining the nation
Taylor will use his first major policy speech to warn that too many self-serving migrants have taken advantage of Australia and eroded the national culture.

Solidarity with the people of Lebanon who are enduring a ferocious attack in the south especially.

Countries like Australia that refused to sanction Israel at the height of the genocide in Gaza, have helped create the global permissions for this impunity.

The Prime Minister is partying with billionaires while everyone else struggles to pay their bills.

It’s everything wrong with politics right now.

He came to Coburg for a visit yesterday. But maybe this is why he was really here.

A government that oppresses the right to protest through law and allows the police to use brutal force against people, creates the conditions for violence.

When talking about the heat expected in Melbourne today, our 5yo daughter said hopefully “I won’t have to go through a 45 degree day again”.

“Unfortunately you will. This will be the coolest summer you’ll experience in your life” replied dad.

“Why?”

We both fell silent, too heartbroken to answer.
January 26, 2026 at 10:15 PM
The right to protest is under attack across the world.

Through both working with people seeking asylum & through politics, I’ve met so many people from the Iranian community who’ve stood up against oppression with great courage and conviction.

It is the reason so many had leave to seek safety.

The situation in Venezuela tells us everything about the link between fossil fuel barons and political power.

It’s a country rich in oil assets that the US wants to get its hands on.

It also reveals why the fight against climate change is a fight FOR people.

Devastating and gut wrenching scenes coming out of Bondi Beach tonight. Love and strength to everyone there and especially the families of those tragically killed and injured.

Pauline Hanson spoke at an anti-immigration rally in Melbourne today.

At which she said, “I don’t want to move to Victoria”.

Well Pauline, we don’t want you to move here either.

Please leave our beautiful & proudly diverse state alone. Goodbye 👋🏽

We are failing our young people.

We don’t fund schools fully or pay teachers properly.

Housing is expensive & jobs are precarious.

Families are stressed & hope is fading.

And when they get into trouble, governments want to throw them in jail for longer - not fund the services they need.

Congratulations Zohran Mamdani on a seismic victory to become New York’s next mayor!

Up against the odds, the prejudice & the billionaires, his campaign ran on courage & won.

A big step forward for free childcare, freezing rents and making life affordable again.

And a huge step forward for hope ❤️

Labor sat on the climate risk report, approved the North West Shelf gas project & announced weak CO2 targets that will cause climate carnage.

Labor pretends to care but is actually failing.

But the people of Wills won’t be fooled.

We will fight for our planet & all life on earth with all we have.

When the neo-Nazis started to congregate and organise in Victoria years ago, we sounded the alarm.

A parliamentary inquiry initiated by the Greens gave the Victorian government a good chance to understand the nature of the threat posed by these right-wing extremists.

Everything Labor does from now on to support Palestinian liberation will be BECAUSE of the power of the Palestinians & everyday people who have mobilised against the genocide.

Not because of Labor’s morality or courage.
August 5, 2025 at 10:49 AM
So proud of our community for showing up in their thousands for peace for Palestinians today ❤️

Too many politicians deride this movement when they feel overwhelmed by their own moral failures.

But history won’t reward the
cowards.

History will remember the courageous.

Sanction Israel now.

Someone has to start.

The world will follow.

Before all the children in Gaza die.
July 25, 2025 at 3:33 AM
People in Gaza are being starved by Israel.

More words from Australian Labor today, trying to appease their consciences.

But they’ve sat on their hands for 18 months & alongside too many other countries, have given Israel moral cover for this genocide.

Sanction Israel NOW.
