As I once heard @mattzollerseitz.bsky.social say, “if you’re ever wondering what to watch, just watch ‘Big Night.’ It’s always the right answer.”
"Big Night" (1996): a perfect movie. That omelette! Was there ever such an omelette!

An important reminder that Alan Greenspan played the saxophone, and inspired one of the finer pre-song monologues of Todd Snider’s career. youtu.be/xJaP_Swpcpo?...

Grateful to Tim for sharing his story. In the words of one of the sources for this story: “We’re all three paychecks away from something like this.”
Tim Walters was doing his best to support his family — but living in a two-bedroom apartment with four children and extended family brought new challenges.

His story of change, resilience, and finding a way forward.
Custodian Tim Walters had a full-time job, but he couldn't afford to pay rent. He decided to do something drastic.
Walters had been living with his sister, but he and his four kids needed more space.

One of my first stories for @wamc.org! Listen at the link below for the full conversation with Caitie, whose family has been in Hudson for centuries.
At Cedar Park Cemetery, Caitie Hilverman helps preserve local history by documenting aging gravestones before names and stories fade away.

So, @audacyinc.bsky.social has launched an “original” podcast called “Family Lore,” with a description that’s strikingly similar to my show, “Family Ghosts,” which premiered back in 2017.

I’m certainly not claiming to have invented the genre of family storytelling, but…c’mon guys.

Last year's Orioles were 3-3 on April 2nd, and never got back to .500 the rest of the way. 6-6 on April 8th is...not amazing, but much improved!
