Another record for UK wind output. Nicely coordinating with pretty high demand but still only 47% of the total. More to come though 🙂

Sometimes described as 'The UK's Orsted', it looks like Labour's 'Great British Energy' has a significant intent by 2030 to get around 15GW of new generation in place 🤔

In 2021, clean power covered Britain’s electricity demand for just 2.5 hours.
In 2025, it’s already 87 hours.

Still only 1.3% of the year – but the direction of travel is clear.

Dr Simon Evans reports
Great Britain has run on 100% clean power for record 87 hours in 2025 so far
Clean-energy sources have powered Great Britain entirely for a record 87 hours this year — a milestone toward 2030 targets

🙂
The word in energy circles is that the UK passed a significant milestone yesterday: for one hour, Britain's entire domestic electricity demand was met entirely by clean sources.

Interesting how low Electricity Demand per capita is in the UK. Guess that is related to us using gas for heating ? 🤔
