Khrystia Vengryniuk’s THE HAMLET CALLED AMERICA (tr. Dmytro Kyyan and Kate Tsurkan, @sandorfpassage.bsky.social) takes us to an isolated Ukrainian village with “bits of superstition, folklore, unexplained moments, and a bit too much familial togetherness.” bookshop.org/p/books/the-...

For us, every month is about translation but September is National Translation Month, so here’s a peek at Fall 2027. We’ll have ARCs early next year, but if you want to read Lejla before then, grab Call Me Esteban, one of the first books we published. sandorfpassage.org/product/call... #booksky

Women in Translation Month is over, but we’re all about reading women in translation year-round. Need suggestions? How about our final 2026 titles? Out in October and November, The Hamlet Called America and Dogs are both dark but illuminating novels that you won’t soon forget. #witmonth #booksky

We can’t wrap up #witmonth w/o celebrating Rene Karabash’s She Who Remains, delicately yet decisively decanted from Bulgarian by @izidoraangel.bsky.social. It was on Service95’s 21 Must-Read Books to Have On Your Radar in 2026, even before being shortlisted @thebookerprizes.com. #booksky

Two of my favorite publishers! Support small presses!
This👇👇! Some super-hyped books are great. But the machinations of corporate publishing have more or less guaranteed their success. So why not support the visions of indie publishers who unabashedly prioritize their individual tastes and the hunt for truly singular books? #booksky
Friends, book reviews are drying up. We all know this. But it's worth repeating. Advance reviews we used to (gratefully!) count on are no longer a given; we're not getting them. Newspapers where intrepid reviewers used to talk about our books . . . well, you know. PLEASE, if you read our books . . .

Looking to surrender yourself to a long novel for Women in Translation Month? We suggest The Case of Cem by Vera Mutafchieva (tr. Angela Rodel) and Water, Spiderweb by Nada Gasić (tr. Ellen Elias-Bursać). Both are slightly mysterious, epic in scope, and utterly unforgettable. #witmonth #booksky
