The warm spices are present but not overpowering, accenting the savory meat and eggs with the occasional briny hint provided of a slice of olive.

I was in Bend, Oregon over the weekend spending time with family, and I took the opportunity to try a Turkish food truck while we were there, @ekysbend which sits in a cozy fenced-in yard adjacent to a hostel along with a few other trucks, several hammocks, and a long row of picnic tables. We had döner kebab and manti, Iskender kebab, broad noodles with moussaka sauce, "street rice" with chickpeas and tomato sauce, and the reason I went, Gözleme, which I'll be writing about later this month. We also got to enjoy some local beers and a couple of guys noodling around on guitars. In August, the Tribunal will be trying Mexican Gorditas, Turkish Gözleme, and Dutch Grillworst.

But this sandwich otherwise hit all the notes I wanted it to--hot and gooey, saucy and spicy, savory and just a bit sweet from the peppers.
