My professor has actually told me to go for the Sámi course with FINNISH as the instruction language. She believes I could handle it :D

It's funny (but not unexpected) how far right adopted the far left vocabulary. They simply filled it with their own contents now.

Some dad with a toddler on his hands was delighted when I held the heavy door to the laundry room for him. He was not Finnish, så he also thanked me for that (a Finn would question why I don’t mind my business and well)

In Lithuania you /may/ find people referring to Prussia and meaning the German state but you will find like no people, none whatsoever, who would say "a Prussian" to mean a German. It is always one of the long dead Old Prussians who they have in mind.

I was excited about my Finnish ID for a couple of hours until social security hit me with piled up bills (they were reluctant to take me in, but apparently, they still were counting how much I would owe them :))) ) We are talking hundreds, folks. It's tough.

I forgot how poorly organised course can ruin your mood. I can only pray my students don’t feel that way, but I feel like online course - in fact - partially prevents a mess to the degree I experienced today
