X’sana joins if you defeat her in a difficult 1v1 where she can oneshot you if she gets too pumped up, OR if you gift her a cute moogle plush that was a random sidequest reward she joins immediately.

What would be the process like to recruit them in an RPG? Do they join via early story mission, or a simple sidequest? Are they an enemy who can be spared and joins you? Do you have to stand on a random tile in the desert with a specific playable character for no reason?

I’ve been playing DoL at the cost of sleep and it is the most “came for the porn, stayed for the lore” experience I’ve ever had.
I decided from day 1 that I must have the endgame LI… the things I went through to achieve that… but it was so worth it. I’m still uncovering new events and interactions.
