I write fantasy books about queer people finding happiness and paint a lot of the same.
I'm hoping to leave the world a little better than it was when I got here.
A.I misses the point completely and will NEVER be used in my work.

I have been absolutely obsessed with this song the last few days, so I figured I'd share. All credit goes to the creators and I hope their Kickstarter is wildly successful because *holy hells* is this cool

Hey, it’s me, your childhood friend from your idyllic hometown in this RPG. Let’s do some tutorial missions together. No, I’m not in any of the official art, but that probably doesn’t mean anything.

I feel it's important to share this again. The internet is so hostile toward creators nowadays. I've seen people have their work stolen, and no longer feel comfortable sharing their creations. We can do better.
Let's be supportive to the people that make this a better place! 💞

Almost done getting ready and then I'm off to my book signing!
I think I'm starting to get used to 'day of' prep because cutting out bookmarks and business cards felt less stressful this time around lol

Today's studio time has been spent revisiting a board game idea that I came up with a few years ago 😀
I haven't had much time for game design since I started writing my current book trilogy and building my art portfolio, so it's been really fun playing around with some ideas today 🥰

The way indie music is seen as 'cool' and indie films are seen as 'embracing the craft without selling out' while indie books are seen as 'didn't get trad published' gives me feelings.
Really crunchy feelings.
The snobbery makes zero sense and instantly tells me someone isn't worth listening to.

What's especially crazy to me in this sentiment (which I also had pre bluesky) is how much every other artistic field lauds indies. Indie filmmaking? Good. Indie music? Good. Indie books? Suddenly people draw a line, even though all the reasons Indie is good everywhere else *still apply*.

YOU DON'T "CONSUME" ART MOTHERFUCKER. YOU EXPERIENCE IT. YOU FEEL IT. YOU ENGAGE WITH IT. YOU WRESTLE WITH IT. YOU LIVE IT. ART ISN'T A LITTLE MORSEL YOU GOBBLE UP.

This is why its so important to repost art.
Your all time favorite artist is out there, but you wont ever find them because the people who follow them only hit the like button.
you guys HAVE to repost things, likes do absolutly nothing for artists, it doesnt support them. Reposts do.

Since I was ranting… Indie Authors, if you got characters that are kissing, almost kissing, or not kissing yet and need a cute cartoon cover, email me your budget and let’s negotiate! No AI here!

I had a really fun morning gardening and pruning the plants on my balcony to get ready for autumn. If you haven't been outside today, I'd highly recommend taking a break and getting some sun 😊

I spent a bunch of time working on my novella's book cover today. I made some pretty good progress, but MAN, illustrating book covers feels *so* much more stressful than just drawing regular illustrations...

I have a book signing on the 29th for The Empire's Alchemist, so I decided to make a sticker of my MC, Tavla! I really love how well it came out-- it's such a cool experience to share what I think she looks like with my fans 🥰
